Craniofacial Pain &
TMJ Dysfunction (TMD)

Patients with craniofacial pain or TMD may complain of facial and/or neck pain and tightness, headaches, ear stuffiness, clicking or grating sounds in the jaw when eating or talking and limited movement of the jaw. These symptoms are often the result of a combination of factors including: behaviors like grinding or clenching, stress, trauma, posture, trauma or surgery.

At Elite Physical Therapy, we work with patients to identify contributing factors and correct postural components. We use manual techniques, like joint mobilization and myofascial release, and modalities to reduce inflammation and improve mobility in the temporomandibular joints and cervical spine. Neuromuscular re-education exercises are instructed to return each patient to comfortable normal movement patterns.
